Maneto The Maneto has a common origin with the Andalusian Warren Hound and is perfectly adapted to the chase of rabbit in rangeland where it is a real specialist. The Maneto comes from a genetical mutation in the medium Andalusian Warren Hounds, that leads to the birth of dogs affected of an achondroplastic syndrome. Instead of eliminating these dogs, they were used in special kinds of game having its main advantage in its particular morphology. The Maneto’s influence and development area is Campo de Gibraltar and bordering areas. From its origins, it has been exclusively used for rabbit and small game hunting in rangeland and difficult areas with brambles, creeks and ravines. This suitability for this kind of hunting is due to its special achondroplastic morphology. The Maneto is also much appreciated in partridge and quail hunting and even as a retriever of waterfowl in marshes areas. Despite its size and appearance, the Maneto is a hard and tough dog, tenacious and persistent with a lovely temperament being also suitable as a family pet. It is distinctive of the breed its front conformation, not completely vertical with the wrists closer than the shoulders and with a bit open hands and feet.
